This year Student Life is partnering with Praying Pelican to go to the Dominican Republic. While the Dominican Republic can be seen as a tropical paradise for people all over the world, it could be called a land of paradox where you could experience both the beauty and the need in minutes after arriving there. Students will take part in different aspects of missions such as VBS, work projects, and street evangelism.

June 13-20

We will be serving with the Abraham Project, the Plantanares Church, and the Fountain of Life Methodist Church in La Carpio. La Carpio is a landfill where Nicaraguan refugees live in San Jose.

Cost: $1,500 per person, includes airfare, meals, transportation, and lodging

July 6-18

Serving with the Mully Children’s Family, in the Loodo-ariak Maasai Tribe and Glory Outreach Assembly to educate children and to spread the Gospel.

Cost is $3,700/person and covers airfare, food, transportation, and lodging

Scholarship funds are available for those wishing to go to Kenya for the first time

July 22-29

We will be partnering with Water@Work and visiting the projects. We also will be training local pastors on disciple-making strategies.

We partner with International Leadership Institute to provide leadership and disciple-making training for the next generation of Christian leaders to re-evangelize Europe through “History Makers” Conferences. This event focuses on instilling Eight Core Values in people age 20-35, who have a passion to grow the Kingdom in this Post-Christian context.

October 31-November 4

Mount Pisgah Student Life Ministries partner with PrayingPelican.org to support ministry to orphans and children in need in the nation of Haiti. For more information on this ministry, please see our Student Lifepage.
Mully Children’s Family is committed to following Jesus Christ in assisting and working with the poor, displaced, and oppressed children of Kenya through rescue, rehabilitation, capacity building, access to education and training, and medical care, parental love, psychological support, and spiritual care.
Glory Outreach Assembly operates 7 children’s homes, engages in leadership training and church planting efforts, and seeks to promote peace and conflict resolution in local communities.
International Leadership Institute (ILI) trains and mobilizes more than 10,000 leaders each year with the eight core values of the most effective Christian leaders, accelerating the spread of the life-transforming power of the Gospel through leaders of leaders empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Elam trains leaders and workers to be effective ministers of the Gospel in the Iran region, equipping the Church with resources that will assist them in their ministry, and sending leaders and workers to strengthen existing churches, establish new churches, and provide relief for the poor and persecuted.
Mount Pisgah partners with the United Methodist Church in Costa Rica through several local congregations to support them in reaching the vulnerable and those in need, and building up the Body of Christ and equipping them for the work of the Gospel in Costa Rica.

Pastor Pedro Silva Multicultural Pastor

Pedro Silva is Mount Pisgah’s Multicultural Pastor. He is facilitating the integration of the many international communities within the church. He also heads up the Global Missions Ministry at Mount Pisgah.

Pedro graduated from Candler School of Theology in the spring of 2016. Pedro speaks three languages: Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

He is married to Flavia and they have two sons.
