COMMUNITY

ENGAGEMENT & MISSIONS

What Is community engagement?

Community Engagement encompasses the mission and service with our local community partners and the Common Ground Network (Fresh Expressions) at Mount Pisgah. Community Engagement  puts hands and feet on what it means to Love God, and Love People. Our mission is both an embodiment of our faith and a witness to our community of God’s love. Through community engagement we meet people where they are, just as they are and put a face on the God who loves them unconditionally.

80% of Christians do not engage their community with the Gospel, and only 20% say they feel equipped to do so. During this 4-week class led by Pastor Ricky Brown, you will develop strong Biblical and theological convictions for evangelism while also being equipped to reach new people for the Kingdom right In your community.

Habitat for Humanity

Each year Mount Pisgah joins with other churches and community partners to build a home for a deserving family through Habitat for Humanity. Though COVID delayed the 2020 Ecumenical Build to 2021, we will build our 28th house for a deserving, low-income family that has never had the blessing of owning their own home. We begin in February. To volunteer or to learn more about Mt. Pisgah’s Habitat for Humanity ministry contact Jim Wilson (jwduluth1@bellsouth.net) or Cindi Smith (cle_smith@bellsouth.net).

When they graduate from HomeStretch, the families have a strong grasp on their finances, have reduced insurmountable debt and have accumulated savings. Many have even increased their income through job skills training and improved employment. They are always looking for family and budget mentors as well as many other volunteer opportunities.
