PROCEDURES

CHECKING IN

Mount Pisgah UMC Preschool and Children’s Ministry Security Policies and Procedures

Thank you for entrusting your children to our care. We value every child’s safety and security, and for this reason we have policies and procedures to ensure that they are protected.

Volunteers:

  • All Nursery and Children’s ministry volunteers submit to a biannual national background check.
  • Volunteers are trained in Safe Sanctuary policies to ensure that all interactions are appropriate and safe for both the children and our volunteers.
Check in Procedures:

  • All children must be checked in at our Hospitality desks before going to their designated classrooms.
  • Each child will be given a name tag with their location, activity, and any special needs noted. The security code on the child’s tag will correspond with a separate tag given to the parent(s).
  • Children must wear a tag for each activity they will be attending to ensure that volunteers know when they will be picked up.
  • Parent(s) are responsible for ensuring that their child(ren) are in the appropriate room before going to their class or worship service.
  • Parent(s) of children 2 years of age or younger will need to sign a log at their child’s classroom making note of the appropriate cell phone number to be used in the event their child needs additional assistance during the morning, also noting any special concerns.
Pick up Procedures:

  • Parent(s) must have their computer generated pick up tag when picking up. In the event the pick up tag is lost, parent(s) must show ID to ensure that children are being picked up by the appropriate adult.
  • Volunteers will collect name tags and pick up tags at the doors of each classroom/studio.
  • In the event that parents have multiple children in multiple locations, they will let the volunteer know that they will need to keep their tag for additional pick ups.
