Families
God created family...
Whatever our family may look like, it is part of God’s plan that we relate to one another through that family. When a family is stable, children feel secure. Secure children are much less likely to fall prey to the influences of the world.
The Drake House

EWW is a non-profit learning center providing a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for homeless women recovering from alcohol and drug dependency, in transition from the penal systems, recovering from domestic violence, or living in poverty. EEW gives these women an opportunity to develop financial independence and solid and transferable work skills to strengthen their sense of self-confidence. Each year Mount Pisgah joins with others churches and community partners to build a home for a deserving family through Habitat for Humanity. This year we will build our 21st house for a family that has never had the privilege of owning their own home. The date for this year’s Ecumenical Build is yet to be determined.

HomeStretch gives homeless parents and their children a safe and comfortable place to live while simultaneously helping them address the root causes of their situation and return to a life of self-reliance and stability. When they graduate from HomeStretch, the families have a strong grasp on their finances, have reduced insurmountable debt and have accumulated savings. Many have even increased their income through job skills training and improved employment. They are always looking for family and budget mentors as well as many other volunteer opportunities. For more information you can email Carol Swan at cswan [at] homestretch [dot] org or visit the Homestretch web site.
