Transformation
Pastor Steve,
I want to thank you for a great sermon last week. I cannot tell you how the message is smack in the middle of my leap of faith I'm taking this year. You are probably aware that remaining alive in one's faith is always open for growth and progression. We hope to all go through a true Christian conversion at some point. It is easy to just stay comfortably once one reaches this level, especially if life is going smoothly. We can always grow with Bible study programs, if we attend church regularly, teach our children about Jesus, and try to live according to the virtues and high example from our Lord Jesus.
"Transformation" is a big word. I don't think I know of many people who would claim to have gone through a transformation as a result of pursing a new level of faith.
I loved your sermon bible passages of Romans 12:2 and 2 Corinthians 9:6-11. I've been searching for a link in the Bible to give me a road map of what to do, to open up my connection, and to be filled with joy. I did make a big commitment and I'm engaged in lots of activities to support my goal.
This summer I did experience God. This caused a huge filling of my entire body with joy. So, I loved hearing your sermon because I have experienced what you were talking about. This is the biggest milestone I've reached in my life, so I want to encourage you to continue to tell everyone what is possible if one pursues a transformation. God does open the door to do His works in us, and we can multiply that effect if we share our love, faith, and joy with others.
God's GPS
We are the couple who has attended Mt. Pisgah for many years; my husband, Bruce, has played golf with you at Country Club of the South. After our last child started college, I began pursuing my dream of writing.
In light of this week's letter, I thought you might enjoy my piece "Cruising through
Life with a GPS." (September 2006 issue of Spirituality for Today). I recently received a request from the editor of Partners in Health, a newsletter ministers to nurses, to reprint this piece.
I am enjoying your sermons and am inspired by them.
